Consensus reached on incentive package for Iran

Friday, June 2, 2006

In Vienna, top diplomats from the United States, Russia, China, United Kingdom, France, and Germany reached an agreement on Thursday on an incentive package to offer to Iran in exchange for its giving up uranium enrichment.

The specifics of the incentive package were not revealed, but a delegation from Europe led by European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana is expected to formally deliver the offer to Iran in the coming days. Iran would then have several weeks to respond.

In a prepared statement, British foreign secretary Margaret Beckett said, “We have agreed on a set of far-reaching proposals as a basis for discussions with Iran. We believe they offer Iran the chance to reach a negotiated agreement based on cooperation.”

Beckett did not mention any sanctions to be taken against Iran if it refuses to comply. The United Nations Security Council is expected to take up the question of sanctions should Iran turn down the offer.

The agreement comes a day after the United States offered to participate in multilateral negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program if Iran suspends its uranium enrichment program. Iran agreed to the idea of holding talks but rejected the preconditions.

In the first direct reaction by the Iranian government to the offer, Iranian foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Thursday; “Iran welcomes dialogue under just conditions but won’t give up our rights,” Iranian state-run television reported. “We won’t negotiate about the Iranian nation’s natural nuclear rights but we are prepared, within a defined, just framework and without any discrimination, to hold dialogue about common concerns,” he said.

Very early yesterday morning, the United States President Donald Trump reported he and his wife First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for COVID-19. Officials said the Trumps’ 14-year-old son Barron tested negative as did First Family and Senior Advisors Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.

Trump took to social media, posting at 12:54 am local time (0454 UTC) on Twitter, “Tonight, [Melania] and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” Yesterday afternoon Marine One landed on the White House’s South Lawn flying Trump to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, Maryland.

Reports said both were showing “mild symptoms”. Senior administration officials were tested as people were informed of the positive test. Senior advisor Hope Hicks had tested positive on Thursday.

Presidential physician Sean Conley issued a statement saying Trump has been given zinc, vitamin D, Pepcid and a daily Aspirin. Conley also gave a single dose of the experimental polyclonal antibodies drug from Regeneron Pharmaceuticals.

According to official statements, Trump, now operating from the WRNMMC, is to continue performing his duties as president during a 14-day quarantine. In the event of Trump becoming incapacitated, Vice President Mike Pence could take over the duties of president via the 25th Amendment of the US Constitution. Brazil’s Minas state stops sales of Toyota Corolla

Friday, April 23, 2010

Minas, one of the largest states of Brazil, has stopped the sale of the Toyota Corolla over safety concerns.

The move was made after nine Corolla customers reported that their cars automatically accelerated. The state public prosecutor’s office said in an online statement on Tuesday that the problem is blamed on accelerator pedals sticking underneath floor mats. Local government said the issue was “putting in danger the lives of occupants”.

According to the prosecutor’s office, sales of Corollas may resume when Toyota alters the floormats in its current models. Toyota has recalled over eight million vehicles worldwide due to acceleration problems.

Missing Afghan jet found; 104 believed dead

Saturday, February 5, 2005

On Saturday NATO and Afghan troops located the wreckage of the Kam Air Boeing 737 missing since Thursday.

Afghan interior ministry spokesman Latfullah Mashal announced the discovery. “The debris of the plane was found around 25 kilometers east of Kabul in a mountainous area called Band-e Ghazi.”

The jet had been enroute to Kabul from Herat when it was diverted due to heavy snow. The crew then sought clearance to land across the border in Peshawar, Pakistan before it lost contact with air control. 104 persons are reported to have been aboard, including 8 crew members; there are no signs of survivors reported.

The weather conditions have hampered search and rescue efforts. NATO-operated helicopters located the crash site. Afghan police and units from Afghanistan’s foreign peacekeeping force are investigating the scene of the crash, according to Mr. Mashal.

Horse Training Moving Your Horses Feet

By Annabelle Cabella

Do you want to learn moving your equines feet?

Training to direct your horse to motion in different routes is also a chance to gain the equines reverence. In the world of equines, there are leaders and followers, and as an equine trainer, you are in the equines domain and you need to adjust. As a horseman, you certainly want the position of the leader and your horse as the follower. Achieve this thru groundwork and by moving your horses feet.

In a herd, the alpha horse has the capability and ascendancy to make the other equines move in any direction. When a horse is with you, the animal operates in the same principle and it only responds accordingly in your ability to establish yourself as the leader. Command respect at all times, especially while on groundwork. Let it be clear, if the horse does not respect you on the ground, it will not respect you on the saddle.

Bear this in mind, Whoever moves first is the loser!

This appears like a simple concept, but it is a natural fact, your horse notices each time you keep your feet still and make his move. If it senses that you are moving your feet as a response to its own movements, it will entitle the horse for the more dominant role. This is the rationale why you must get connected to your horses feet as the leader on groundwork. For any purpose why you are training your horsewhether it is for jumping, competition, or for pleasure ridinga good partnership must be established during groundwork.

How to make your horse move and warm-up with you

Have a spacious training area. A round pen is great place to do it. Also be sure that the surface is flat and void of any unnecessary obstacles and distractions. Safety for both you and your horse should be prioritized.

Start the training with a positive attitude and make sure that your horse is up to the task.

Understand the right of communicating with your horse. At this point, body positioning, signals, and motion are the most vital variables. Learn where you want to place yourself in relation to the equine. Recognize where to place pressure to get the horse moving to direction you desire. Using tools like a stick or a whip may be an excellent idea. Such aids are only used for extending your energy and not for hitting the horse.

It is all about positive reinforcement. Learn the best rewards to give to the horse.

Voice commands can be helpful as well but focus on your body language.

Learn how to hook-up. You can effectively make the horse to stop moving with this technique.

Always be sensitive with the horses feelings. Dont push too hard when the equine is already showing signs of boredom, anxiety, and exhaustion. Always be sensitive with the equines feelings. Dont push too hard when the equine is already showing signs of boredom, anxiety, and exhaustion.

Learn how to hook-up. You can effectively make the equine to stop moving with this technique.

By principle, the horse perceives groundwork as playtime with you. Conversely, as a serious horseman, moving your equines feet is all work for you. Dont worry; it pays dividends in the end.

Wikinews interviews specialists on China, Iran, Russia support for al-Assad

Monday, September 23, 2013

Over the past week, diplomatic actions have averted — or, at least delayed — military strikes on Syria by the United States. Wikinews sought input from a range of international experts on the situation; and, the tensions caused by Russia’s support for the al-Assad regime despite its apparent use of chemical weapons.

File:Ghouta chemical attack map.svg

Tensions in the country increased dramatically, late August when it was reported between 100 and 1,300 people were killed in an alleged chemical attack. Many of those killed appeared to be children, with some of the pictures and video coming out of the country showing — according to witnesses — those who died from apparent suffocation; some foaming at the mouth, others having convulsions.

Amongst Syria’s few remaining allies, Iran, China, and Russia continue to oppose calls for military intervention. In an effort to provide a better-understanding of the reasoning behind their ongoing support, the following people were posed a range of questions.
