Make sure that the property is presented properly and that you spend some money on repairs and redecoration if required. Often people don t want to have to spend money on a home they have just bought. Also ensure it is clutter free, clean, tidy and welcoming. Make sure you use lighting and mirrors to create a sense of space and help viewers envisage their belongings in the home. Use neutral colours, plants and rugs to make the home attractive.

Find a really good estate agent. Do your research, get recommendations and make sure that they are friendly, trustworthy, passionate and knowledgeable. If you are unhappy with their service make sure you talk to them about it and check the contract so that you aren t tied in for more than a few months at a time. Make sure you are paying a reasonable fee and that they are going to use the Internet, newspapers and advertising boards to market your home effectively.

Finally, you could consider selling your home privately to a specialist company that buys homes fast for a good price.
