When students are searching for a health related stream after their 10+2 or 12th standard exam, the option of studying dental sciences appears to be quite lucrative. Due to this endeavour, a lot of students are having their dreams of studying dentistry, fulfilled in the state.

Delhi and the National Capital Region cater to a large number of students in different streams in various colleges. It is obvious that the medical colleges and dental colleges in Delhi NCR are also quite high in number. Miami Orthodontist Offers Combination Treatment-Invisalign and Traditional Braces

“One of the first questions our staff asks a patient is if they are OK with braces,” said the Miami, FL orthodontist. Many of the patients who come to the Centre for Invisible Orthodontics are interested in only having Invisalign as their principle treatment

modality. The small number of patients who would benefit from a combination of treatment are usually comfortable with this arrangement.

One example is a recent case involving a 17-year-old patient. “We started this case on a 17-year-old with Invisalign, which the patient wore for about eight months,” Grussmark said. “We then transitioned to clear braces, which the patient wore for approximately five months. The case turned out beautifully, the patient was ecstatic, and it sure beat having to wear braces for two years.” “There are certain movements Invisalign can do better and more efficiently than traditional braces,” Grussmark says. “And there are certain movements that are better done with braces

When Braces Are Utilized When root paralleling is necessary- in rare cases where teeth must be extracted- braces can be a quicker, more efficient way to accomplish this. When teeth are removed, whether it is a lower incisor or extraction of bicuspids, we don’t just tip the crowns of the teeth together. We have to parallel the roots, and some type of fixed appliance therapy such as braces does that more efficiently than Invisalign, Grussmark said. This movement can often be accomplished in three to six months, and the case then can be finished with Invisalign. When there is an excessively deep overbite present- not a dental protrusion- a three- to six-month episode of brace therapy may allow for completion of the Invisalign case more quickly. Overbite is determined by the amount of the lower teeth that is covered by upper teeth. It can be more effectively treated with a short episode of fixed appliances such as braces during the course of Invisalign treatment. Sometimes short segments of braces placed in the back of the mouth will suffice to achieve the desired results without the patient displaying any noticeable braces. By and large, these combination cases are few and far between, compared to the vast number of patients that can have their treatment completed with just the normal course of Invisalign therapy.
